1950s Archimede Seguso Murano Owl

$698

Only 2 pieces in stock!

A rare and highly collectible Murano glass owl attributed to Archimede Seguso, likely produced during the 1950s or early 1960s while Seguso himself was still actively working in Murano.

The richly saturated ruby, amethyst, and violet coloration is created using the sommerso glass technique, where layers of colored glass are submerged within clear crystal to create depth and luminosity. While Murano animal figures were common throughout the period, owl forms such as this example are considerably rarer and especially sought after by collectors.

Retaining its original manufacturer’s labels to the underside and sourced directly from an auction in Germany, the piece is a wonderful example of highly collectible mid century Murano glass.

Period: 1950s–1960s
